The limited space within ambulances and life boats can make spinal boards difficult to store and carry in and out of the vehicles. The RNLI also have special difficulty getting patients in the water onto spinal boards as spinal boards are designed to float. The Inflatable Spinal Board uses drop stitch PVC an inflatable material that can coupe with pressures up to 30psi meaning it can be packed up to a more efficient size and buoyancy can be adjusted without compromising back support.
